The Relationship
AG first met Adam Wexler in 2019, while he was the CEO and founder of PrizePicks. Throughout the seven-year cycle leading up to Allwyn’s acquisition of PrizePicks in 2026, AG and Wexler remained close friends, with AG admiring his ability to scale and execute. All the while, The Spell Off LIVE! was still an idea bouncing around in Wexler’s mind, waiting to come to fruition. After a successful pilot season and viral clips across social media, AG once again backs Wexler’s second run at a slam-dunk project.
The show is the debut release from EightState Studios, the Atlanta studio Wexler formed to create and own original content. Hosted by DC Young Fly and overseen by Hollywood Game Night showrunner Jayson Belt, its eight live episodes premiered on YouTube in August, with names including T.I., Charlotte Flair and Bobbi Althoff competing. What sets it apart is that winning teams direct donations to educational nonprofits. The 3 September finale saw Team Dwight Howard take the title.
